Math 7 (Calculus 1) is
the first semester of a three-semester sequence of the calculus. Topics will
include limits, continuity, derivatives (to solve problems involving rate of
change, tangents to curves, curve sketching, and maximum/minimum values),
and integration (to solve problems involving areas of regions, volumes of
solids of revolution, arc length, and work).
This course is intended for students majoring
in math, the sciences, engineering, and computer science. Business and
social science majors who need a calculus-based math course will take Math
28 (Calculus I for Business & Social Science), unless it is specifically
stated that calculus for the physical sciences is needed.
