Take some time and be sure you can answer each
of the topics and questions mentioned below

Review the systemic and pulmonary circulation so you are clear as to what the heart is used for.

Review the anatomic location of the heart in the chest with the surrounding organs and muscles.

Also know the size of the heart.

Review what the pericardium is, where is it, and know about the visceral and parietal pericardium along with the pericardial space and pericardial fluid.

Review the histological features of the heart wall: endocardium, myocardium and epicardium.

Review the '4X4X4' rule: Know the 4 chambers; Know the 4 valves; Know the 4 blood vessels that connect to the 4 chambers.

Review all the internal structures found within the heart chambers: chordae tenineae; papillary muscles; trabeculae carneae.

Review the coronary arteries: locations, names, branches, when they fill with blood.

Review the coronary veins as well.

Review the conduction system of the heart: SA-node, AV-node, Bundle of His, right and left bundle branches, Purkinje fibers.

Review the components of the electrocardiogram (ECG) and how they match the phases of the cardiac cycle.

Review the heart sounds.

Review the relationships between cardiac output, stroke volume and heart rate: C.O.=H.R. X S.V.
