1. Course Introduction.  Please read the
Course Information Sheet and Syllabus. 

2. Diagnostic Testing: I’d like to find out which of your skills in English are strong and which are weak and need improvement.  We’ll take some short diagnostic tests in these areas:  (1) Grammar; and (2) Paragraph Writing.  Take the Syllabus Quiz.

3. Complete the ESL 10 Student Information Sheet and turn it in.
4. Books: Please purchase all materials this week.  You may buy at (1) the SMC Bookstore, (2) A & R Bookstore--on
Pico Blvd. at 17th Street, or (3) online through Amazon.com or another online bookseller.
