Portfolio Guidelines

1. Look over your body of work from this semester and evaluate it.  How many journals have your written?  How many paragraphs have you written and re-written?  Which pieces of writing seem interesting?  Which piece of writing seems to contain few errors?  Which one is your favorite?  Which pieces do you think would be interesting for your classmates to hear you read?

2. Select one (1) piece of writing that is your best.  Look it over again.  Would you like to add any information?  Do you need to include a  title? Are there some grammar errors you should correct?

3. Make any necessary changes to your writing, save it, and print out one copy.

4. Plan to make _______ copies of your text.  (Do not use the college printers for this purpose! You should go to Office Max, Kinko's, Staples, or another commercial establishment to do this!)

5. Practice reading your paper aloud at home beforehand.

6. On Tuesday, December 12th, 2006 you will have the chance to read your writing aloud to your classmates.
