Week 14: Dec 1 -Last Day in the Lab

1. Quiz #7 - Common Errors (use Scantron)
2. Journal Summary Project - due today by 3:30pm.
3. Portfolio Project - due Tues, Dec 12
4. Sign up to conference as needed.

Week 12: Nov 17

1. Email Correspondence Journals due today by 3:30
2. Journal Summary Project - you have time to work on this today.
3. Poster Project - you have time to work on this today.
4. Singular/Plural Exercises - We will focus on this topic in class next week.
5. Sign up to conference as needed.

Week 11: Nov 10

Veteran's Day - SMC closed

Week 10: Nov 3

1. Focus on Grammar software - Count/Non-count Nouns: Unit 37, 38, and Review Test 8.
2. Continue with Email Journal.
3. Sign up for a conference with your teacher.
4. You may work on Journal #7, if you like.
Choose ONE of the 3 questions from the Food Handout on pp 19 – 20 to write your journal on.  Due Monday

Week 9: Oct 27

1. Ask any last minute questions before the test.
2. Work on your Email Journal
3. Midterm Exam: We will begin at 1:50 pm & finish at 3:20pm.

Week 8: Oct 20

1. Editing, p. 41 check answers here.  Answers will vary; ask me if you still have questions.

Week 7: Oct 13

4. Sign up for “Read Aloud” on Monday.  6 students maximum.

5. Vocabulary Study 2 (20 words) is due next Friday, Oct 20th at 3:30

Week 6: Oct 6

1. Editing: Handbook, pp. 37 We will check these sentences together.  ANSWERS
2. Check the answers to Practice Quiz #4.  Identify topics you need to study for Monday's quiz.
3. Focus on Grammar software: Chapter 2.
4. Turn in Word Form Chart with your 13 Vocabulary Study words listed.
5. Check your cumulative grade to date in the MWF section.
6. Sign up to conference with your teacher as needed.

Week 5: Sept 29

1. Practice Quiz #3 - Sentence Formats.  Print out and complete it.  We'll go over it together.  ANSWERS
2. Journal #3 - Due today at 3:30 pm

Week 3: Sept 15

1. Revise and type "Structured Writing 1 - revision 2".  Submit electronically via email attachment.  Print out 2 copies.  Give one copy to your teacher.  Bring one copy to class on Monday.  Sign up to read your paper aloud in class on Monday: more info.
2. Azar - chapter 2 (exercises 11-14) & chapter 5 (exercise 7)
Check your answers: Answer Keys are taped to white board.
3. Grammar Practice: Question Formation | Suffixes and Word Form | Past Tense | Parts of Speech | Prepositional Phrases
4. Individual Conferencing: Grammar? Vocabulary? Writing? Grades? Parking?  Ask me a question!
5. Obtain your Grades PIN number from your teacher.  Check your grades.
6. Learn how to schedule a tutoring appointment.

Week 2: Sept 8

1. Practice Dictation #1 - Listen to your teacher.
2. Vocabulary Study "The Long Walk Home" -- Your teacher will review this with you.
3. Vocabulary Study -Experiment using your online dictionary. (Work independently. Ask your teacher for clarification.)

4. Grammar Practice: Browse these web references -- Work independently. Ask your teacher if you have questions.

Week 1: Sept 1

1. Computer Lab Orientation 
2. Typing Diagnostic Quiz - turn in to teacher
3. Obtain an SMC Account
   (a) Print out your SMC Account information.  Save this paper and show it to your teacher.
   (b) Copy the information onto your orange bookmark.
4. Orange Bookmarks.  Complete all information on back of card today (except for "Grades PIN")    Keep the bookmark safe (in your wallet, notebook, or purse?) and have it handy each time you come to the computer lab on Fridays.
5. You can take a typing class, if you need it OFFTECH 1

Turn in by the end of class:
(a) Typing Diagnostic Test
(b) show teacher your orange bookmark and SMC Account printout

HOMEWORK (due Weds)
1. Look up and know how to spell Vocabulary List #1 words. Practice using these words at home.
2. Look up and know how to spell Lab Vocabulary List. Practice using these words at home.
