Thank you so much for everything you did on Friday.  We really did enjoy ourselves and learned a lot!  It was such a great pleasure to meet and work with you. I hope that in the future we will be able to attend other workshops you might offer.

-Violeta Pacheco, English/Basic Skills, University High School

I just wanted to thank you for an absolutely fabulous day on Friday. Mark Roberge was so intelligent and thoughtful in the way he approached our "multi-lingual" students and their needs, and I am literally putting some of the things he shared into practice this week in my class! As you both know, not every "professional development" workshop actually equips you with useful teaching strategies and techniques-- this one absolutely did. It was so refreshing to hear such a smart, practical, respectful approach to our students and their needs. Thank you for organizing such an important and helpful day. I look forward to attending more of these events in the years to come!
-Kaylie Weatherford, English Dept/Basic Skills, Santa Monica College

I would love to get access to the information! Congratulations on a great success!

-Georgia Lorenz, Dean of Academic Affairs, Santa Monica College

I just have to say the the Fairfax group really enjoyed Mark's presentation.  We are looking forward to getting his DVD and his PowerPoint.  Of course, we would like to plan some professional development with our ESL department.  Thanks again.

-Mark Leos, Assistant Principal, Fairfax High School

I cannot express my thanks for inviting me to the Basic Skills workshop on Friday. The speaker was right on and awesome.  Every community college should hear him.  Can I get a copy of his Powerpoints and a copy of the video you were taping?  He really got me motivated as a faculty member, trustee and Board of Governors member.  Again thanks.

Dr. Margaret Quinones, Trustee, Santa Monica College

The colloquium was wonderful, perfect. And certainly we should collaborate in the future. It  would be wonderful to have the DVD so that anyone who didn't want to miss their Friday classes could benefit from Mark's presentation.  You have done a wonderful thing by making Mark's expertise available to so many institutions. Thank you so very much.
Linda Griffith, ESL Dept, Glendale Community College

I saw the large number of attendees when I dropped in on Friday.  You have hit on an area that is of concern and interest to our faculty staff at SMC.  Thank you for organizing this.  It was really impressive to see the enthusiastic participation.

-Dr. Chui Tsang,  Superintendent/President, Santa Monica College

Thank you for all your work in bringing this event to us.  There was so much information that was helpful.  I'm glad there is an electronic version to go over and study.  Thanks, again,

Laura Campbell, English Dept, Santa Monica College

I really enjoyed the colloquium. It was a great venue! Great food, and great conversations.
-Nancy Sander, ESL Dept, West Los Angeles College

I just wanted to tell you that, from what I saw, you and our colleagues from ESL and English (and others?) did a brilliant job!  From the choice of speaker, to the facilities, to the food (terrific that you could employ a former student), to the variety of the invitees, it was flawless!   I know how much work is involved in organizing this type of event, and my hat is off to all of you!  I look forward to hearing a wrap-up at our next dept meeting  as well as your projection of where we go from here.

Bravo!

-Toni Randall, ESL Dept Chair-elect, Santa Monica College

I want to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for a worthwhile day of professional development. Your presenter was right on target and the information was very helpful. I am looking forward to sharing with my staff as soon as we complete our accreditation work. Again many thanks for a great day.
-Nancy Ritter, ELL Coordinator, Fairfax High School
