Sentence Display Macro Instructions
These are steps for recording sentence display macro. This macro will display an essay as separate sentences (alt s), and will restore the text to paragraph form after editing (alt p). These steps should work for recording a macro in recent editions of Microsoft Word.
1. select macro/record new macro under tools menu
2. name macro "sentence"
3. click on key board
4. hold alt and "s" keys down simultaneously
5. select "Assign" and close window
6. select replace under edit (or control H)
7. for find, type a period and a space
8. for replace type a period and a space and 2 paragraph marks (find
paragraph marks under "more" then "special." it's at the top. then select replace all
9. click ok and close
10. then click the stop button (the square) in the macro record box
To return to normal format, follow these steps:
1. select macro/record new macro under tools menu
2. name macro "paragraph"
3. click on key board
4. hold alt and "p" keys down simultaneously
5. select "Assign" and close window
6. select replace under edit (or control H)
7. for find, type a period and a space and 2 paragraph marks, to be found
under "more" then special. it's at the top.
8. for replace type a period and a space. then select replace all
9. click ok and close
Now every time you type alt s, your essay will be displayed in the sentence display mode, and every time you type alt p, the paper will be returned to a normal format.
