Background

Elisha Shapiro earned an MFA in writing from USC in 1985. He has been teaching at Santa Monica College since then.  He studied at  Cal State LA to become a Reading Specialist and a Learning Disabilities Specialist. He completed a Master’s Degree in Special Education in 2002, also at Cal State LA. He has lived in LA since 1964, and his non-teaching interests include art and politics.
