Editing Symbols

art = article (omit, add or change article)

awk = awkward (change wording and/or sentence structure)

cap = capitalize

coh = coherence (logical order, relevance)

cs = comma splice (two independent clauses joined w/comma; add conj or change punctuation)  

DM = dangling modifier (no noun  which the word/phrase/clause modifies)

frag = incomplete sentence (SVO)  

MM = misplaced modifier (word/phrase/clause next to wrong word)

N = number (singular or plural)

p = punctuation (period, comma)

pro = pronoun (add or change)

RO = run-on (two independent clauses without conj; add conj)

sp = spelling (check dictionary)

vf = verb form (passive, active, progressive, perfect, base)

vt = verb tense (past, present, future)

wc = word choice (check thesaurus)  

wf = word form (check dictionary for part of speech)

? = meaning unclear (vocabulary and/or sentence structure)

circles = words that you shouldn’t use; careless mistakes you should be able to correct w/o my assistance

// = parallelism (usually in thesis statements, topic sentences, concluding sentences; coor conj must join equal parts of speech)
