| This class will further develop your reading
comprehension, vocabulary, and college reading methods. We will
focus on:
analytical skills, strengthening critical reading skills, identifying the author's purpose and tone, finding the
main idea, telling fact from opinion, understanding patterns in
organizing ideas, and identifying the clues that reveal implied meaning.
In addition to textbook assignments, quizzes, and tests, you will work
with the SMC Reading Lab. And, we will read a memoir and share our
thoughts and opinions about it in book groups.
