A fundamental study of American Sign Language (ASL) designed to develop student's proficiency in basic ASL communication skills with an emphasis on comprehension skills. Components are: conversational skills, cultural awareness, grammatical features and vocabulary development. Corresponds to the first two years of American Sign Language offered in the high school.
