You should be able to:
1) describe the difference between heat and temperature
2) describe, with examples, the three different ways heat can be transferred
3) compare the different temperature scales to each other
4) describe what happens when materials are heated or cooled, and identify
everyday situations where this is an important effect
4) identify which common materials are good conductors and which are insulators
5) describe conceptually what happens to the final temperature of a mixture of
(originally) different temperature materials
6) explain the importance of water's high specific heat capacity and its strange
behavior when cooled below 4°C.
