I went to New York for a meeting, and I now have a new agent, Jim McCarthy at Dystel & Goderich Literary Management. Jim will begin by representing my new novel, The Laughter and Sadness of Sex.

You can read the first three chapters of the novel by clicking on the cover (the photo) above.  The story focuses on 35-year-old physicist Gunnar Gunderson, born and raised in Wisconsin, who teaches physics at the University, in Madison.  Having just received tenure, he decides it's time for a wife.  To look, he creates hypotheses, but he's a clueless man deep into his specialty, the physics of cold at absolute zero. Love and quantum mechanics swirl in this comedy of manners.

You will need Adobe Reader to read it (automatic on most computers).

Wait, there's more!

I offer the full text--every story--of my collection of short fiction, below.  It's titled Academy Award Afternoon and Evening--And Other Stories.  Most of the book contains stories of mine that have been published elsewhere.  If you read the book, be sure to e-mail me with your reactions.  Click on the cover (the photo) below to get the text.  You will need Adobe Reader to read it.  If you don't have Adobe Reader, it's a free download from Adobe.

Three of my stories appeared in Issue 26 of the national journal Rosebud.  To order a copy, click here.
