   Child Development Training Consortium

What is the Child Development Training Consortium (CDTC)?

            The CDTC is a statewide program funded by California Department of Education, Child Development Division (CDE/CDD) with Federal Block Grant Child Care and Development Quality Improvement Funds.

The Yosemite Community College District administers the program.  The program was created to address the critical shortage of qualified child care workers in the state of California.  The demand for qualified workers continues to grow.  The program also supports the professional growth and development of these already in the field.  Funding for all program services is limited.

Program Eligibility Requirements:

1.                  Student must be seeking a new or maintaining a currently held Child Development Permit, AND

2.                  At the time of enrollment, the student must be employed by a child care/ development program including licensed family child care and out – of – school care.  Center based programs must be licensed or eligible for an exemption according to Department of Social Services (DSS) regulations.  Employment in a kindergarten classroom is also acceptable. AND

3.                  Student must work in the state of California.

4. GRADE VERIFICATION as soon as grades are posted at the end of each semester  submit Unofficial Transcripts,  from SMC website ( www.smc.edu) I need a hard copy, so send it, drop off in the mailroom or leave it under  my door. that way I can submit your paperwork  to accounting in order for your check to be released

REIMBURSEMENT

If you pay for your CLASSES you need to  submit the application ( 1 original and 2 copies PLUS your TRANSACTION RECEIPT  sheet ( white sheet they send to you or you pick up at Station C or you print out upon registering for a class)

 

If you  DO NOT pay for your CLASSES you need to submit the application( 1 original and 2 copies PLUS your TRANSACTION RECEIPT  sheet (white sheet they send to you or you pick up at Station C or you print out upon registering for a class)) PLUS book receipts taped to 8.5 by 11 paper)

Summer and Fall will be reimbursed during the Spring Semester

Winter and Spring will be reimbursed during the Summer Semester

***Reimbursement formula : approximately $25.00 per unit per person***
