General Information
The diagrams below are screen shots and therefore do NOT contain clickable links. Clickable links in the instructions are in red and are underlined. It's a long document due to the screen shots so it will probably take a lot of paper to print out: thus, it will be best if you have this document open in one browser window or tab and the ACE page in another. When you click on the ACE link in #1 below it should open in a new browser window.
Signing Up
- Go to the main ACE page at http://www.prenhall.com/aceorganic/
- If you have an ACE code that came with your book or that you obtained somehow, click on the REGISTER tab.
- If you do not have an ACE code, click on the GET ACCESS tab and get out your credit card.

- When you click the REGISTER tab you will see what's below (hopefully).
- Fill in the information. If you already have a Pearson Education account (perhaps via using the Bruice website) you will just enter your login name and password; otherwise, you'll click No and you will get this Pearson registration screen to fill out. Once you've registered there, go back to the page represented immediately below.
- Once you've filled out the information on this page, click on the orange NEXT tab.

- Hopefully you'll now get a confirmation page like the one below:

- Now that you are a registered user, you will go back to the ACE page and log in as a registered user.
- You may want to do the browser checkup.

- Once you log in you will see the screen below.
- Note both the Help button at the top and the links to help with other technical problems. The Help offered is actually helpful and quite complete.
- Near the bottom you will see a listing of "My Courses." There will be a link to a course called "Tutorials" as well as to any other courses for which you have used ACE.
- You will want to do the appropriate tutorials if you haven't done them before for another course. You won't need the Lewis Structure tutorial for Chem 22. You may or may not need to do the Mechanism Tutorial.
- To enroll in the course set up by your instructor, click on the button that looks like a piece of paper with a plus sign on it and has Enroll written next to it.

- Once you have clicked on the Enroll button in the above screen, the pop-up window below will appear.
- Enter the course ID for your course. You will have to get this from your instructor. Using the course ID below will enroll you in Dr. Kline's spring Chem 22.
- Then hit the Enroll button.

- You will get the following (more or less; the one below is from the aforementioned Chem 22 course) warning pop-up screen. Press continue if this is the course you want to add.

- You should now see the course in which you just enrolled listed under My Courses, along with the Tutorials and any other courses for which you have previously used ACE.
- Click on Tutorials to do any of the four tutorials.
- Click on the course name (here Chemistry 22) to do assignments specific to that course.

- If you click on the name of your course you will get a description of that course as shown immediately below. Click on the Assignments tab to see the actual assignments.

- Here is the Assignment listing for the above course:

- Other useful buttons and tabs in these windows include My Courses which will take you back to the list of courses in which you've enrolled, Grades where you can check your progress, and the helpful Help button.
- If you click on My Courses and then Tutorialsfrom the above page you will get a page that describes the Tutorials course. Again, click on the Assignments tab to see the assignments as shown below
