PHILOS 1 Class Meets at the Beach on April 30

Question: WHAT TIME are you expected to be there for attendance credit?
     8:00am class:     Be there 8:15 - 9:05am
     9:30am class:     Be there 9:45 - 10:35am
     11:15am class:     Be there 11:30 - 12:20pm 

Question: WHERE will we be meeting?
     Take PICO BLVD. directly to the OCEAN's EDGE.

Question: HOW can you get there?
     PICO bus #7 comes every 10 minutes. Bus stop is on Pico in front of SMC.
     WALK (fast because it is 20 blks.)
     BIKE
     DRIVE: there is meter parking (bring quarters) nearby, just south of Pico at Ocean Blvd. 
     CARPOOL: Get or give a ride to someone in the class! 

Question: WHY are we going?
    We are going to the beach to do a PHENOMENOLOGICAL REDUCTION on an experience 
     out in nature. This will be be the basis for your Embodied Writing Reflection Due Monday,
     May 5. For more information on the is Assignment go to: MIDTERM.

Question: What do you need to do to PREPARE for this unusual class session?
    Re-Read: Abram (11-29) and (201-203) explains Phenomenological Reduction.
     You will be sitting and writing during class time. So bring WARM clothes in case it is cool 
     at the beach. And bring paper and pen to write with and  with. You will also need a    
     willingness to BE in the HERE/NOW, the ground zero of existence.
