 Course Policies:

          · QUIZZES: All quizzes are open book. There are 10 questions (multiple choice & true/false) on each quiz. You will need to bring a scantron form with you on the day of the quiz. The quizzes start at 3:45 and will be collected at 4:05pm. If you are late for class you will not be given extra time to complete the quiz. There are no make-ups, but I will drop the lowest quiz grade. Your overall quiz grade will be the average of your 5 best quiz grades.

          · ATTENDANCE: In order to earn credit for attendance you must be on time and stay for the complete period. You earn 100 points for attending all class meetings. You lose 5 points for each absence after your first one. If you are absent for 2 or more classes in a row you will be dropped from the course. If you fall behind on assignments you may be dropped from the class. If you decide to drop the course this semester, please let me know. It is far better to be in class without your assignment than to skip class to do your assignment. Please be here on time, ready to work together, every day of the semester.

· You are responsible for keeping back-up copies of all work submitted for a grade.

· Late assignments: I will accept assignments that are no more than 2 days late for deduction in points.

· This course is a center for learning and respectful dialogue in a context of diversity. Please support and respect our learning space.

          · This course adheres to the policies of Santa Monica College.

          · Letters of recommendation offered to students who earn an "A" in the course.
