| Rena has been an ESL instructor here at SMC since
September, 1982. She has a B.A. in English literature, with a minor in
languages, and holds an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language from
Hunter College in New York City. In addition to teaching at SMC, she
also teaches ESL at Culver City Adult School. The languages she has
studied are French, Spanish, and Russian. However, the language
she speaks the best (besides English, of course!) is Hebrew, and she has
taught at Bar Ilan University in Israel. She has traveled to a number
of countries, including: France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium,
Canada, England, Scotland, Switzerland, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Turkey,
Israel, and Jordan. She grew up in Washington, D.C. and then lived in
New York City for 12 years before moving with her family to Los Angeles.
Rena loves speaking different languages and meeting people from all over the
world. Being an ESL teacher is a perfect profession for her. For the course outline for ESL 10 for Fall, 2005, click here |
