Avoiding Split Infinitives

*1. Enrique wanted to forget his painful romance. 

*If Enrique forgets the romance, then all memory of it will be gone completely. Thus, adding the word "completely" is repetitious and unnecessary.

2. They intended to complete the job speedily.

3. The pilot wanted to complete the trip safely and happily.

4. The United States Football League strictly vowed to refuse to sign college football players before they had played in their senior year.

5. Her invitation seemed to be genuine, but I suspected her intentions.
