The Center for Environmental and Urban Studies (CEUS) is an information and research center for students, faculty and the surrounding community; located on Pearl street across from the southeast end of Santa Monica College's main campus. It is an information point source for campus environmentalism and university environmental programs.

Associations & Groups:

AASHE, the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, is a member organization of colleges and universities working to advance sustainability in higher education. We work in partnership with businesses, nonprofit organizations and government agencies that support our mission.

California Student Sustainability Coalition An effort to unite and empower the California community of higher education to collaboratively and nonviolently transform our selves and our institutions based on our inherent social, economic, and ecological responsibilities.

The Center for Ecoliteracy is a public foundation that supports a grant-making program for educational organizations and school communities, primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area; convenes networks of its grantees; sponsors projects consistent with its mission; administers donor-advised funds; and manages a publishing imprint, Learning in the Real World®.

Global Green In the US this organization is focused on stemming global climate change by creating green buildings and cities.  It is the American Arm of Green Cross International (GCI), which works toward a sustainable and secure future by reconnecting humanity with the environment.  Global Green USA is also the only national environmental non-profit headquartered in Southern California.

Sierra Student Coalition from the Sierra Club:  The SSC is a broad network of high school and college-aged youth from across the country working to protect the environment. The SSC is the youth-led chapter of the Sierra Club, the nation's oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization.

The American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment is a high-visibility effort to address global warming by garnering institutional commitments to neutralize greenhouse gas emissions, and to accelerate the research and educational efforts of higher education to equip society to re-stabilize the earth’s climate.

Campus Ecology from the National Wildlife Federation.  This portal includes information on personal activism, campus activism, and information resources including case studies, campus greening, and a calendar of events.

Ecological Footprint 2.0—Redefining Progress's new approach to measuring how much of the earth's carrying capacity it takes to sustain humanity’s consumption of goods and services. Footprint 2.0 improves on the standard footprint approach by including the entire earth's surface in biocapacity, making formal accommodation for other species, using more accurate global carbon sequestration rates, and changing the basis for the footprint from cropland potential to net primary productivity.

GreenFILE - free research database with articles about agriculture, education, law, health and technology, including comprehensive coverage – from to volume 1, issue 1 to present – for Bioscience (back to 1964), Conservation Biology (back to 1987), Journal of Ecology (back to 1913) and Journal of Environmental Planning & Management (back to 1948). The total number of records is approximately 295,000, and full text is provided for more than 4,600 records from open access titles, as of March 3, 2008.

Environmental Philosophy is a web listing of books, journals and associations for information on philosophy and the environment including some live links.

Global Stewards provides environmental tips for sustainable living and information about exciting sustainable solutions that are speeding the shift toward a sustainable way of life.

Green Directories:

Climate Action Planning WIKI from AASHE.  This wiki includes information on creating a climate action plan, prioritizing research and public engagement, determining carbon footprint and emissions trajectory, greenhouse gas mitigation strategies, and much more.

Green Maven's mission is to grow the green economy by leveraging the power of the collective internet. They have two tools: Green Search Engine : searches over a million green websites, and the Green News Reader : integrating green blogs into one, easy to read format.
