The report should include the following: importance to humanity, ingredients or composition, the function of each ingredient or component, manufacturer, world consumption, etc.

The report should include: the composition of a "healthy" environment, the common pollutants and their sources. Current remediation efforts should be part of the report.
3. Computers and Chemistry
Report must include: The impact of computers to the study of chemistry. The composition and manufacture of a computer chip; the future of computers
4. Photography and Chemistry
Report must include the chemistry involved in making pictures: black and white and colored pictures, "polaroid camera" pictures
5. Fuel Chemistry
a. Solid Fuels b. Liquid and Gaseous Fuels c. Alternate sources of fuel & energy
Report must include: the importance, the heating value, world consumption, advantages, etc.
6. Lasers
The nature, production and application of lasers; their impact on human life
7. Catalysts and retarders
The nature, the different types; their application
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES
Each group will consist of no more than 4 members, one of whom will be designated as the leader. Each group will hand in only one report. The title page should show the names of all group members and will identify the leader. Page two should be a Table of Contents. You may add information to the items listed above, but all items on the list must be on the report. A bibliography citing at least 2 internet source plus a number of other references should follow. The last page of the report will be a statement from the leader evaluating the performance of each group member, stating which part of the report was done by each. The report will be graded for content, completeness and presentation. Follow the standard format for report-writing.

March 5 Groups will have been formed. Topics will be raffled if necessary
March 26 Outline of report due
April 16 First draft due
May 7 Second draft due
May 30 Final report due
All manuscripts must be typewritten, double-spaced. The final report should be between 8 and 10 pages, excluding the title page, table of contents, bibliography, and evaluation. Extra credit of 2 points (Max. of 8 points) will be given for manuscripts received before or on the deadline.
GRADING THE REPORT
1. Presentation (2 points) Does the report look like a scientific report? Did the authors exert effort to make
it look like one?
2. Organization (2 points) Is the report organized in such a manner that thoughts or ideas flow logically
from one section or paragraph to the next?
3. Content (16 points) Are all the required elements found in the report? Do the authors appear to
understand the content of the report?
